Community Groups Co-operate to Ensure a Viable Future for Landmark Buildings

Crail Community Council and Crail Community Trust agreed last night at the Crail Community and District Council Meeting to contribute £250 each
towards a professional feasibility study (£2000) commissioned by Crail2020 to assess the potential use of Crail Town Hall and Crail Community Hall. Other community groups contributing to the project are the Crail Preservation Society and the Crail Festival Society. Among other things the proposals will look at how the buildings could be sensitively restored (replacing inappropriate fluorescence lighting etc…) how access could be sensitively improved and services modernised. The aim of the studies is explore possible options that might give new life and a viable future to these important community buildings which will otherwise face an uncertain future. This study will help inform the Community Council who have been negotiating with Fife Council for some time about taking greater community responsibility for these Landmark community halls.
