What’s On October 2010

October in Crail – The Sun is at its best just now, with its raking angle turning the white wash to gold, and the making the green unbelievably intense. The leaves are dropping, the nights are closing in and there is an exciting Halloweeny feeling in the air! It’s a great time to head to the coast, enjoy the dramatic skyscapes, energetic seas and Autumn colours of the fields. Whether you walk, cycle or drive, don’t forget your camera and your binoculars – the low angle of the sun really brings out the best of the distant landscape and ship and bird spotters will be in heaven. There are loads of attractions that are open, special events for harvest, school holidays and Halloween. It’s a great opportunity to do a little stressfree Christmas shopping the old fashion way in some of the hidden gems of East Neuk, and to get cosy in pubs and cafes with stone walls, openfires or sea views.
