What’s on in and around Crail this Spring – StAnza Poetry Festival

Highlight of the month: Stanza Poetry Festival, A celebration of the diversity and relevance of poetry

16-19 March 2011 StAnza Festival, St Andrews (10 mi) – brochure with it’s full and very exciting programme is now available online. StAnza’s 14th annual festival is themed Timepiece and Poets’ Ark, and headlines Selima Hill, Marilyn Hacker, Paul Farley and Fiona Sampson, all new to StAnza. Also showing are the legendary Bob Holman  on how to slam New York style the ever popular Julia Donaldson leading the children’s programme. Gaelic Poet in Residence, Maoilios Caimbeul will help celebrate the centenary of the great Scottish Gaelic poet, Sorley MacLean, look out for the concert in partnership with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra featuring new settings for some of Sorley MacLean’s poems.

The programme is incredibly packed, so wether you live or visit in Crail, or the area this March we hope you will attend something that inspires you! Check out the StAndrews blog guide to the top 12!

Sat 12 March – Party on the Pier, The Scottish Fisheries Museum, Anstruther (3 mi) collaborating with St Ayles Rowing Club and Boats Club will host Scotland’s only Party on the Pier as part of a Britain wide celebration.

Fri 18 March 2:00pm – 9:00pm   Art Preview at The Jerdan Gallery ‘Spring Fling’ featuring Mark Holden.

Thu 24 March 8:00pm  – Phyllis Sinclair, Crail Folk Club at The Golf Hotel
